Operation Christmas Child Info |
Since 1993, over 95 million shoe box gifts have been delivered to children in over 130 countries by Samaritan's Purse. For most of these children it will be the first Christmas gifts ever received. No matter what your specific faith is, helping a child in need by showing them love and campassion is always a good thing.
This year was the first year we did a shoe box. Little bear is three and I thought it was a good opportunity to introduce charitable works to him. I was a little worried that he was not going to understand and want to keep all the goodies we bought.
Every time we picked out an item I made sure to tell him it was for the little boy who needs help, not for him. He was more than happy to be helping his "new friend". Never once did he fight or argue with me about keeping the stuff. Makes a mamma's bear heart proud!
Over all, I would say the experience was a success. If you would like to learn more, please visit Samaritan's Purse. There are drop off locations all over the country, or you can build a virtual box online!

DeleteI love your little guy's heart. And I love what you're doing with all of this! We just bought some gifts for others too, and my daughter was more than happy to help someone else get gifts. How did we get so lucky with these kids?
