The Desert Angel

This month our Charity was The Desert Angel.

Desert Angel is a 100% volunteer organization
and wholly dependent on donations.  Their mission is to collect, pack, and mail needed items to our troops.  They also like to include words of encouragement as well as items for the soldiers to pass on to the kids and people of the land they are on.  In their own words they simply explain it as follows:

We show our Troops they are not forgotten in deeds, not just words. Changing our world, one box at a time ~  Making a difference!

July Charity of the Month - The Desert Angel

The Desert Angel

This month, in honor of the Fourth of July, I thought I would support a Charity that's main mission is to help out the troops serving and sacrificing for the Freedoms we will be celebrating:  The Desert Angel.

Desert Angel is a 100% volunteer organization
and wholly dependent on donations.  Their mission is to collect, pack, and mail needed items to our troops.  They also like to include words of encouragemnt as well as items for the soldiers to pass on to the kids and people of the land they are on.  In their own words they simply explain it as follows:

The Desert Angels

They complete this mission by mailing Miracle Boxes.  The boxes contain a variety of items, including socks, pocket foods, letters from home and "a whole lot of love".  Also in each Miracle Box we add a "Prayer Cloth" or "Pocket Flag" reminding our Troops, we are praying for them.

June Charity of the Month Wrap Up & 52 Weeks!

June's Charity of the Month was Feeding America.

Feeding America: Ways to Give

Feeding America is the nation's leading domestic hunger-relief charity.  Their food bank network supplies food to more than 37 million Americans.  They can only do this with our help and support!

This month I gained just over 100 new followers.  That translates to a $50 donation for Feeding America!  Thank you very much for your help and support.

June Charity of the Month - Feeding America

Feeding America: Ways to Give

This month's Charity of the Month is Feeding America.

Feeding America is the nation's leading domestic hunger-relief charity.  Their food bank network supplies food to more than 37 million Americans.  They can only do this with our help and support!

Feed a Child Breakfast for 3 months

Please take a moment to check out Feeding America.  Their Ways to Give page has donation options for all levels.  For a small gift of only $12, you can feed a child breakfast for three months.  $12 would be as simple as making your own coffee for a week and skipping that fancy coffee house one.

May Charity of the Month Wrap Up

The Make A Wish Foundation was May's Charity of the Month.  Since 1980, this organization has given hope, strength, and joy to sick kids. 

Today the Make A Wish Foundation has a network of more than 25,000 volunteers dedicated to bringing a smile to the face of sick kids!  To date they have been able to grant the wishes of nearly 250,000 kids around the world. 

There are plenty of options available to help support this worthwhile cause - from donating items or airline miles to adopting a wish.

May Charity of the Month - Make A Wish Foundation

The Make A Wish Foundation is May's Charity of the Month.  Since 1980, this organization has given hope, strength, and joy to sick kids.  The Make A Wish Foundation all started with one seven year old's life long dream of being a police office, and one caring US Customs Officer who could not let that dream go.

Today the Make A Wish Foundation has a network of more than 25,000 volunteers dedicated to bringing a smile to the face of sick kids!  To date they have been able to grant the wishes of nearly 250,000 kids around the world.  All from that first wish, and the first person who simply wanted to help!
